Scalar to Participate in Cyber Security Engineering Contract for Canadian Army: Scalar to support protection of Land C4ISR data systems from theft of, and damage to, critical information

January 30, 2019 By admin

Scalar Decisions (“Scalar”), Canada’s leading IT solutions provider, announced today its participation in a new contract supporting the Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (Land C4ISR) system for the Canadian Army, through General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada.

Alongside General Dynamics, which was awarded three contracts by the Government of Canada to support the Land C4ISR system, Scalar will design, build, and operate a Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) for a critical part of Canada’s military operations. This project is a new and innovative solution for Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND).

“Scalar is incredibly honoured to be part of such a critical project for Canada,” said Theo Van Wyk, CTO – Security at Scalar. “Protecting the communication and information systems of our Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Army is of the highest priority. We are confident that we bring the right skillset and team to deliver the highest level of protection and response to these organizations.”

Scalar will be assisting General Dynamics in the contract for Cyber Security Engineering, which supports the protection of the Land C4ISR data systems from theft of, and damage to the information they contain.

As a leader in IT security, each year Scalar publishes an annual study identifying key cyber security trends in Canada. Scalar‘s 2018 study, The Cyber Security Readiness of Canadian Organizations, is available for download, while the 2019 study will be released in February, 2019.
