Q2B Paris 2025: Europe Steps into the Quantum Vanguard

August 27, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

The upcoming Q2B Paris 2025 Conference, hosted by QC Ware in partnership with Bpifrance, promises to be one of the defining gatherings for the global quantum community. Set for September 24–25 at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris, the event aims to push the conversation beyond speculative potential toward tangible industrial and scientific applications. With France positioning itself as a leader in Europe’s quantum strategy, the conference arrives at a critical moment when governments, Fortune 100 companies, and cutting-edge startups are accelerating their investments in quantum computing, sensing, communications, and security.

As the Platinum Sponsor, Quandela stands at the center of this European momentum. Known for its pioneering work in photonic quantum computing, the company has not only delivered systems to private datacenters but also democratized access through its quantum cloud services. At Q2B Paris, Quandela will unveil MerLin, a first-of-its-kind framework designed to bridge AI and quantum computing, underscoring the convergence of these two transformative technologies. CEO Niccolò Somaschi captured the tone perfectly, noting that the industry is at an inflection point where quantum promises are rapidly translating into practical value across sectors ranging from pharmaceuticals to aerospace.

The speaker lineup reflects this ambition. French policymakers such as Bruno Bonnell and Loïc Le Loarer will emphasize France’s national quantum roadmap under the “France 2030” initiative, while executives like Nicolas Dufourcq of Bpifrance highlight the financial and strategic backing needed to sustain the ecosystem. On the global stage, leaders from Airbus, BMW, SNCF, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Crédit Agricole will present case studies and expectations, bringing an industry-first perspective to the perennial question: “use-cases or buzzwords?” The end-user panel, hosted by Daniel Vert of Systematic Paris, aims to answer precisely that.

Startups, too, will have their moment in the spotlight through the Q2B Paris Start-up Track. Organized by Quantonation Ventures, the pitch competition is more than just a showcase; it offers participants the chance to secure due diligence for a potential pre-seed or seed investment. This kind of dedicated platform for early-stage companies shows how the European ecosystem is intent on nurturing quantum innovation at every level, from raw research to enterprise-grade deployment.

The broader program is structured to blend technical rigor with market relevance. Attendees will be able to dive into workshops on quantum error correction, optimization algorithms, and Monte Carlo methods, while also hearing from executives at QuEra, Pasqal, Alice & Bob, AWS, and IQM about hardware breakthroughs and near-term applications. The vendor showcase further underscores the breadth of participation, with players like Quantum Transistors, Equal1, and Quintessence Labs sharing their latest progress. Together, this mix of incumbents and disruptors paints a picture of an ecosystem that is both competitive and collaborative.

As Matt Johnson, CEO of QC Ware, observed, Europe—and France in particular—has made remarkable progress in just the last year. With Bpifrance’s active role in building the innovation infrastructure, and with Quandela and Pasqal leading the charge as homegrown quantum hardware companies, Paris has become more than a host city; it is now a symbolic hub of Europe’s quantum aspirations. Q2B Paris 2025 is thus not just another conference, but a benchmark moment in Europe’s effort to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with North America and Asia in the quantum race.
