Motorola Solutions Enhances Enterprise Security with Advanced Avigilon Features Debuting at ISC West

April 1, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has introduced several significant advancements to its Avigilon physical security portfolio, prominently unveiling its innovative Alta SOS system at this week’s ISC West exhibition in Las Vegas. These developments represent a significant step forward in unified enterprise security management, specifically addressing the growing demand for real-time collaboration between enterprises and public safety entities during critical incidents. The new Avigilon Alta SOS platform allows enterprises to effortlessly share essential security information—including emergency contacts, evacuation routes, building floor plans, utility layouts, access control details, and live camera footage—directly with emergency response teams. This immediate exchange of vital information dramatically improves situational awareness, enabling quicker, more informed decision-making during emergencies and enhancing overall safety for employees, visitors, and emergency personnel.

The introduction of Alta SOS underscores Motorola Solutions’ continued investment in comprehensive enterprise security systems designed to proactively mitigate escalating risks. Avigilon Alta’s robust suite integrates seamlessly into enterprises’ existing infrastructure, encompassing advanced video surveillance, access management, intercom solutions, continuous virtual monitoring, intelligent mailroom package handling, wireless locking mechanisms, and visitor management tools. Moreover, Motorola’s recent acquisition of the cloud-based visitor management solution provider InVisit further enriches Avigilon Alta’s capabilities, enabling businesses to manage security threats with greater precision and reliability. This cohesive, holistic approach simplifies security management, ensuring that critical information reaches decision-makers and first responders instantaneously.

Complementing Alta, Motorola Solutions has also enhanced Avigilon Unity, an on-premise physical security platform optimized for complex, large-scale deployments such as critical infrastructure facilities, expansive hospital networks, and extensive manufacturing operations. Avigilon Unity now incorporates advanced event detection capabilities powered by large language models (LLMs), allowing security operators to define sophisticated, scenario-based alerts using natural language. Operators can now set highly specific conditions, like detecting “smoke accompanied by people running,” prompting continuous monitoring across all connected cameras and generating immediate, actionable alerts. This leap forward in intelligent, real-time threat detection and situational response promises substantial operational efficiency gains, enabling faster incident response times and more effective security interventions.

These advanced features exemplify Motorola Solutions’ dedication to adapting enterprise security solutions to the rapidly evolving threat landscape. Alex Kazerani, Motorola’s senior vice president of Cloud Video Security & Access Control, emphasized the critical advantage Alta SOS provides, noting, “In high-pressure situations, every second counts,” highlighting how timely access to precise information can significantly alter emergency outcomes. Similarly, Hamish Dobson, corporate vice president of Avigilon Unity, stressed that while the security needs of large enterprises are inherently complex, their management systems should be intuitive and intelligent, translating vast volumes of data into instantly actionable intelligence through natural language capabilities.

Visitors attending ISC West from April 2-4 will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the potential of Motorola’s expanded Avigilon security suite. At booth #14059, participants can interact with demonstrations of Alta SOS, Avigilon Unity’s intelligent alert system, and additional innovations designed to redefine modern enterprise security practices. Through these enhancements, Motorola Solutions continues to set the pace in advancing secure, integrated environments, ensuring safer spaces for business, personnel, and the public alike.
