Forcepoint Accelerates Data Security Evolution with Acquisition of Getvisibility

April 7, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

Forcepoint, a global leader in data security, has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Getvisibility, a pioneer in artificial intelligence-driven Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Detection and Response (DDR). This strategic milestone significantly enhances Forcepoint’s “Data Security Everywhere” platform, offering organizations unparalleled real-time visibility and proactive control of data risks across hybrid cloud and advanced generative AI (GenAI) environments. By fully integrating Getvisibility, Forcepoint can now help businesses instantly recognize emerging threats and neutralize them before they escalate, marking a critical advancement in data protection amid an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.

The acquisition represents a profound strengthening of Forcepoint’s data security capabilities, expanding its offerings from initial discovery and classification of sensitive data to the proactive, real-time mitigation of threats. Getvisibility’s innovative AI Mesh technology, characterized by a sophisticated network of specialized, fine-tuned AI models, forms the backbone of this enhanced solution. This approach ensures highly accurate and context-aware discovery, classification, prioritization, and management of risks. Consequently, Forcepoint’s platform is now uniquely positioned to continuously monitor sensitive data across diverse environments including SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructures, traditional on-premises systems, email exchanges, and emerging GenAI tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini, significantly reducing the potential for data compromise or misuse.

Forcepoint CEO Ryan Windham highlighted the significance of this evolution by emphasizing how rapidly data—and thus risk—can move within modern organizations. Integrating Getvisibility’s robust DSPM and DDR capabilities into Forcepoint’s Data Security Everywhere architecture equips companies to adapt quickly and dynamically, maintaining high security standards without hindering operational agility or innovation. The unified solution will allow customers, including enterprises, government agencies, managed security service providers (MSSPs), and channel partners, to achieve compliance and data security goals more efficiently. The expanded solution portfolio ensures that organizations can protect sensitive information seamlessly, even when shared through increasingly diverse and sophisticated digital pathways, including personal devices and various collaborative tools.

Mark Brosnan, co-founder and CEO of Getvisibility, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, viewing it as an essential leap forward in achieving Getvisibility’s fundamental mission: helping organizations safeguard their most critical data assets. Brosnan will now assume the role of Global Engineering Lead for DSPM at Forcepoint, while co-founder Ronan Murphy joins as Chief Data Strategy Officer, underscoring the strategic importance and continuity of expertise in this significant integration. Both leaders will continue to guide and refine the evolution of the combined technology, leveraging Forcepoint’s market presence to amplify and accelerate their vision of providing real-time data risk visibility and automated protective measures.

Attendees at the upcoming RSA 2025 conference, scheduled from April 28 to May 1 in San Francisco, will have the opportunity to experience firsthand Forcepoint’s expanded Data Security Everywhere portfolio at the Forcepoint Experience Center at the St. Regis Hotel. Demonstrations and interactive sessions will feature the latest advancements in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DSPM, DDR, and AI Mesh, allowing potential clients, industry analysts, and cybersecurity experts to explore the robust capabilities and integrations resulting from this acquisition. This event marks a significant step forward for Forcepoint in redefining how data security operates within today’s fast-moving, AI-driven digital environments.
