The Big Techs to Offer Solutions to the Industry at the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress

Telefónica, Fortinet, Sentinel, Cloudfare and Crowdstrike among the confirmed companies

The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress (BCC), taking place from May 21 to 23 at Fira de Barcelona, will assemble a significant cross-section of the international cybersecurity ecosystem. Leading companies will showcase the latest digital protection systems for industry, accompanied by prominent experts who will delve into the key challenges in this domain within an increasingly interconnected world.

Factories, industries, and businesses worldwide are swiftly transitioning to embrace the digital realm, rendering themselves more agile, competitive, and sustainable, yet also more susceptible to vulnerabilities. Notably, more than 60% of Spanish companies fell victim to cyber-attacks in 2023, as per data from the Spanish Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE). Moreover, the European Parliament recently passed the Cyber-Resilience Law, a novel regulatory framework compelling hardware and software manufacturers to incorporate heightened IT security requisites into their products.

Against this backdrop, the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, jointly organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Catalonia Cybersecurity Agency (ACC), has outlined its thematic focus for the upcoming edition around critical challenges faced by companies. These include Robust Security Measures, Threat Intelligence and Monitoring, Employee Training and Awareness, Compliance Management Solutions, Data Governance and Privacy, and Regulatory Technology.

Confirmed participants for the BCC include companies specializing in developing solutions to mitigate cybercriminal impact, such as Cloudflare, Crowdstrike, Fortinet ManageEngine, Sentinel One, SoSafe, Telefonica Tech, and Threatlocker, among others. Additionally, over 60 sessions will take place in the congress segment under the technical guidance of the International Society of Automation (ISA), featuring speakers like Andrew Rose, Security Director at SoSafe; Daniele Molteni, Product Manager at Cloudflare; Tom Liston, CEO of Bad Wolf Security; and Steve Mustard, former president of ISA and independent automation consultant.

Event director Marc Tarragó emphasized that “the proliferation of connected devices worldwide is fueling cybercrime, necessitating continual updates to digital security systems within the industry.” He further noted, “For this reason, the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress will furnish companies with cutting-edge technological safeguards, fostering an environment where top-notch industry professionals convene to discuss contemporary solutions and future challenges.”

Ethical hacking will also find a platform at the Hacking Village, sponsored by Caixa Bank Tech, S21SEC, and Recorded Future, where hackers will demonstrate their expertise and exchange knowledge. Additionally, the Access 2 Market initiative, jointly organized by the Catalonia Cybersecurity Agency, the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), will facilitate meetings between Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and various companies and suppliers of health and cybersecurity infrastructure-related products.

The BCC is scheduled from May 21 to 23 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition center, coinciding with the IOT Solutions World Congress, an international event focusing on industrial transformation through disruptive technologies.
