Stellar Cyber has announced that David McKeough will join the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), a move that signals the company’s intent to accelerate its growth and expand its influence in the cybersecurity space. With over 22 years of experience in cybersecurity leadership, McKeough has a proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling global operations. His career includes senior roles at McAfee, Digital Guardian, CrowdStrike, and Secure Code Warrior, where he consistently led organizations to capture market share in highly competitive environments.
McKeough’s expertise spans U.S. Federal, SLED, and global markets, managing revenue from $21 million to $350 million. He has built high-performing teams, designed go-to-market strategies, executed mergers and acquisitions, and fostered partner ecosystems that align with customer needs. His perspective is particularly valuable because of his experience moving between the partner channel and major security vendors, giving him a unique ability to bridge customer, product, and ecosystem priorities.
Commenting on his new role, McKeough highlighted Stellar Cyber’s AI-driven foundation and its established presence among Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). He noted that the company was applying AI to cybersecurity long before the current GenAI surge, positioning it to lead as enterprises and service providers confront overwhelming data volumes and increasingly sophisticated threats. As CRO, his priorities will be accelerating Stellar Cyber’s global go-to-market execution, expanding its leadership in the MSSP/MDR (Managed Detection and Response) space—where Stellar Cyber already has a footprint with a third of the top 250 global MSSPs—and scaling growth by uniting enterprise sales execution with deep channel leadership.
Changming Liu, CEO of Stellar Cyber, emphasized McKeough’s ability to energize teams, partners, and customers, calling his track record “proof that he knows how to scale with impact.” Liu positioned this appointment as a pivotal step in making Stellar Cyber the default choice for MSSPs, MDRs, and enterprise security operations teams worldwide. Founded in 2015, Stellar Cyber has long been an advocate of AI-driven threat detection and response, and McKeough’s appointment marks a continuation of its strategy to cement leadership in this rapidly evolving field.
