SentinelOne has crossed a symbolic threshold in its growth trajectory by surpassing $1 billion in annualized recurring revenue (ARR), a milestone that underscores both the expansion of its customer base and the durability of its AI-driven cybersecurity platform. For the second quarter of fiscal 2026, ending July 31, 2025, the company reported revenue of $242.2 million, up 22% year-over-year, with net new ARR reaching record levels. CEO Tomer Weingarten emphasized that the company’s unified platform strategy—integrating AI, data, cloud, and endpoint security—has propelled its competitive positioning, while CFO Barbara Larson pointed to operating leverage and disciplined execution as drivers of both growth and improved margins.
The numbers reflect a company in transition from growth-at-all-costs to disciplined profitability. ARR climbed 24% year-over-year to $1 billion, and customers spending $100,000 or more annually rose 23% to 1,513. Margins also told a story of progress: GAAP operating margin improved from negative 40% to negative 33%, while non-GAAP operating margin turned positive at 2%, compared to negative 3% last year. Net income margin on a non-GAAP basis improved to 5% from 2%, signaling efficiency gains as scale increases. Gross margin remained stable, with GAAP holding at 75% and non-GAAP at 79%, a sign of pricing discipline and cost controls even amid growth. Meanwhile, cash reserves remained robust at $1.2 billion, giving SentinelOne ample room to reinvest and sustain operations while scaling.
The company’s cash flow profile is still mixed, but trending in the right direction. Operating cash flow margin for the quarter was flat at 0%, and free cash flow margin stayed negative at 3%. However, trailing-twelve month numbers showed notable improvement, with operating cash flow margin at 4% (vs. 2% last year) and free cash flow margin at 2% (vs. -1%). These gains indicate that while quarterly results may still fluctuate, SentinelOne is steadily building financial resilience and edging closer toward consistent cash generation.
Looking ahead, management guided for third-quarter revenue of $256 million, representing sequential growth of nearly 6%, and maintained full-year revenue guidance at just under $1 billion, targeting $998–1,002 million. Importantly, the company is forecasting non-GAAP operating margins of 4% in Q3 and 3% for the full year, suggesting a trajectory toward sustainable profitability without sacrificing growth. With non-GAAP gross margins expected to remain in the 78.5–79% range, SentinelOne is balancing scalability with operational efficiency in a way that aligns with investor expectations for durable, profitable growth in the cybersecurity sector.
SentinelOne’s Q2 results highlight its success in scaling beyond the “hyper-growth” startup phase while retaining double-digit expansion. Surpassing $1 billion in ARR is more than symbolic—it signals customer trust in its AI-powered platform at scale, positioning it as a key competitor to incumbents like CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Microsoft. The company’s raised guidance reflects confidence in execution, and with profitability now within reach, SentinelOne is redefining its narrative from a high-growth challenger to a maturing leader in next-generation security. For investors, this quarter strengthens the case that SentinelOne is emerging as one of the few cybersecurity firms capable of balancing growth with profitability in an AI-driven security landscape.
