Modirum Platforms, long recognized across Europe and the Middle East for its deep-tech platforms in secure communications and mission-critical infrastructure, has now planted a formal flag in the United States. The company announced the establishment of a dedicated U.S. legal entity, a move that underscores its ambition to compete in one of the most security-sensitive and competitive technology markets in the world. This expansion is not just about adding another office—it signals a strategic shift towards embedding itself more deeply into the North American ecosystem of public safety, telecom, defense, and critical infrastructure.
Brett Johnson will spearhead the U.S. launch as Channels and Partner Network Development Director. His background in commercial leadership within critical infrastructure and communications makes him well positioned to guide Modirum’s entry, from assembling the first U.S. team to structuring key partnerships and ensuring client delivery. Johnson stressed that the ability to engage directly with local customers and partners will make all the difference, creating room for collaborations that are longer-term and more strategically aligned. Meanwhile, Sami Honkaniemi, Managing Director of Critical Communications at Modirum, noted that demand in the U.S. for high-performance, secure platforms has never been stronger, especially as organizations look for resilience in their operations against rising complexity and threat landscapes.
The company’s U.S. offering will revolve around its modular, cloud-native situational awareness platform, designed to interoperate video feeds and communications across diverse technologies, while applying advanced AI analytics for real-time decision support. This platform is already in use by police, fire brigades, EMS, homeland security units, and major telecom providers in Europe and the Middle East. With global partnerships—most notably with Microsoft in the cloud and cybersecurity space—Modirum is positioning itself squarely in the command-and-control (C2) platform market, which is increasingly seen as a backbone for smarter public safety and industrial operations. The emphasis on interoperability, scalability, and secure orchestration could be a differentiator in the U.S., where fragmented systems often hinder rapid response and collaboration.
By establishing a U.S. entity, Modirum Platforms gains proximity not only to clients and regulators but also to a growing ecosystem of technology and infrastructure providers seeking trusted partners for secure AI-driven solutions. In a market where resilience, trust, and speed are paramount, the timing may be fortuitous. If the company can blend its European foundation with American scale and partnerships, its U.S. chapter could become a cornerstone of its long-term global strategy.
