IGEL and Omnissa Strengthen Endpoint Management and Security Integration

March 25, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

IGEL, renowned globally for its secure endpoint operating system solutions, and Omnissa, an innovative leader in AI-driven digital workspace platforms, have significantly expanded their collaboration. Omnissa’s Workspace ONE, an AI-enhanced unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, now seamlessly supports IGEL OS as well as the newly launched IGEL Managed Hypervisor. Additionally, both companies have advanced their existing integration between Omnissa Horizon and IGEL OS to offer greater visibility and enhanced security within Horizon Cloud desktop environments.

As businesses increasingly adopt hybrid work models and move decisively toward Zero Trust architectures, managing secure access to critical applications and regulated data becomes paramount. Recognizing this shift, IGEL and Omnissa have reaffirmed their joint commitment to simplifying IT complexities and boosting workforce productivity. Through this enhanced collaboration, enterprises can replace costly and cumbersome legacy desktop virtualization solutions with streamlined technologies. By leveraging Omnissa’s advanced digital workspace platform and IGEL’s robust OS offerings, businesses gain superior management and security capabilities to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance.

Customers of both companies will directly benefit from three key integrations introduced in this partnership. Firstly, IGEL OS 12 now supports Omnissa Horizon Cloud’s next-generation technology, integrating seamlessly with Workspace ONE Access for secure authentication. This development is particularly beneficial for frontline professionals in highly regulated sectors such as finance, government, retail, and manufacturing, providing them quick, secure, and frictionless access to essential virtual desktops. Additionally, this integration enhances the use of Imprivata’s “tap-and-go” authentication workflows, crucial in healthcare environments where rapid, secure access to desktops can significantly improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Secondly, IGEL endpoints now integrate directly with Workspace ONE UEM, Omnissa’s unified endpoint management system. This brings IGEL-powered devices into Omnissa’s central management interface, providing IT administrators with a comprehensive, unified view. The resulting centralized, “single-pane-of-glass” approach enables real-time compliance monitoring, streamlined device onboarding, and conditional access management, simplifying complex endpoint environments and significantly enhancing enterprise security posture.

The third significant advancement lies in application management. Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM will now fully manage Windows environments running on IGEL’s upcoming Managed Hypervisor. Utilizing Omnissa’s App Volumes technology with Apps on Demand, businesses can dynamically provision applications directly into Windows environments, significantly reducing application management complexity and operational costs. This innovation allows enterprises to prolong the lifespan of existing Windows 10 hardware and decrease overall IT expenditures by delivering essential applications efficiently through IGEL Managed Hypervisor.

Highlighting this strategic partnership, Klaus Oestermann, CEO of IGEL, emphasized that these developments “continue to push the boundaries of endpoint security and management,” providing customers with unprecedented flexibility, visibility, and ease of management. Similarly, Bharath Rangarajan, senior vice president at Omnissa, underscored the value of robust partnerships in transforming enterprise virtualization and device management strategies. Together, IGEL and Omnissa facilitate organizations’ transition from outdated VDI approaches toward more agile, secure, and cost-effective workspace solutions suited for today’s diverse IT environments.

With immediate availability of the Horizon Cloud and Workspace ONE UEM integration for IGEL OS 12, enterprises now have access to a powerful solution that enhances their virtualization, device management, and application delivery capabilities. The imminent release of IGEL Managed Hypervisor will further augment this offering, providing even greater flexibility and control for businesses seeking efficient and secure digital transformation.
