Imago Techmedia, a U.K.-based event group, today announced the launch of the first annual Cyber Security Dallas conference and exposition. The event will take place Oct. 31 – Nov. 1, 2018, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.
Cyber Security Dallas will bring top speakers and industry experts to the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex, which boasts one of the largest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the United States. The area is home to more than 200,000 high-tech workers spanning industries that are integral to the nation’s infrastructure and economy, including transportation and telecommunications. The event will bring together thousands of security and information technology professionals to discuss the top cybersecurity challenges facing businesses today and network with industry practitioners, innovators, and thought leaders.
“North Texas corporations are a prime target for the world’s most aggressive cyber attacks, making it crucial to have convenient, affordable and world-class training available within the region,” said David Juniper, director of events at Imago Techmedia. “DFW cybersecurity and IT professionals are modern-day warriors, going into battle every day to keep our data secure. We look forward to launching Cyber Security Dallas in October and are eager to play an integral role in the local cybersecurity community.”
This event is the third expansion of the annual Cyber Security Event Series, which premiered in Chicago last October and is now launching in 2018 in Atlanta and Dallas. Last year, the event in Chicago attracted more than 3,000 attendees, and its speakers included world-famous hacker Kevin Mitnick and Supervisory Special Agent from the FBI’s Criminal and National Security Cyber Investigations unit, Daniel Wierzbicki.
Speakers at Cyber Security Dallas include security consultant Brett Johnson; Wendy Nather, principal security strategist at Duo Security; Dave Lewis, global security advocate at Akamai Technologies; Tim Medin, founder at Red Siege; and Nicole Eagan, CEO at Darktrace. More speakers will be added throughout the year, addressing a wide range of topics from endpoint management to encryption and threat intelligence solutions.
“Cybersecurity is one of the biggest points of concern for organizations right now,” said Juniper. “Although there is uncertainty of what’s to come, the security and IT community has expressed a strong desire to discuss and tackle the hard issues facing the industry. Our goal is for Cyber Security Dallas to inspire the discussions that lead to solutions both within the region and around the world.”
Imago Techmedia has more than a decade of experience bringing technologists and business leaders together to keep pace with the news and trends that matter most to the tech industry. In addition to attracting the biggest names in cyber security, the group has also partnered with major technology companies such as Microsoft, IBM Security and Cisco to exhibit at its industry leading technology events based throughout Europe, including IP EXPO Europe and Cyber Security Europe.
