BreachRx Raises $15 Million to Transform Cyber Incident Response

May 20, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

BreachRx, a pioneering provider of intelligent incident response platforms for comprehensive enterprise use, has successfully closed an oversubscribed Series A funding round, securing $15 million. The funding round was spearheaded by Ballistic Ventures, with additional participation from SYN Ventures, Overline, and Silver Buckshot Ventures, raising the company’s total funding to more than $23 million. Significantly enhancing the strategic value of this round, Kevin Mandia, former CEO of Mandiant and current General Partner at Ballistic Ventures, joins the BreachRx Board of Directors, while Nicole Perlroth, former lead cybersecurity reporter for the New York Times and acclaimed author, steps into the role of Board Observer.

The BreachRx platform addresses the critical need for a cohesive, organization-wide cybersecurity incident response solution. Unlike traditional fragmented approaches, BreachRx provides a unified, secure workspace where stakeholders across departments can efficiently collaborate in real-time during cybersecurity events. By clearly delineating responsibilities, tasks, and timelines, the platform ensures that every team member has precise knowledge of their role, enabling rapid and coordinated incident management. Additionally, BreachRx significantly reduces operational costs and enhances efficiency through automation, generating tailored incident response playbooks and providing comprehensive tracking and reporting tools. This capability empowers organizations to deliver transparent, measurable outcomes to stakeholders, including boards, auditors, and regulators.

The investment round arrives following a year of remarkable growth, with BreachRx achieving more than triple annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth for the second consecutive year. Currently, the company serves over 100 enterprise customers, including prominent publicly traded and Fortune 500 organizations across financial services, technology, healthcare, and critical infrastructure sectors. The new funding is earmarked to rapidly expand BreachRx’s go-to-market strategies and bolster engineering teams, accelerating innovation and further broadening platform adoption.

Both Mandia and Perlroth underscore the crucial need for structured incident response solutions like BreachRx. Kevin Mandia, renowned for his expertise in leading companies through high-profile cybersecurity incidents, emphasized the critical role of effective incident preparedness and management, stating, “Every company should consider how to prepare for and manage through a cyber incident—and BreachRx empowers companies to both plan and execute through cyber events in a manner that promotes far more effectiveness and resilience.” Nicole Perlroth highlighted how organizations are ultimately judged by their handling of cyber crises and the communication that surrounds such incidents, praising BreachRx for addressing the practical, often chaotic realities of cyber response through dynamic playbooks and streamlined operations.

Andy Lunsford, CEO and co-founder of BreachRx, expressed his enthusiasm about the strategic insights and guidance from the two cybersecurity industry leaders, noting the unmatched expertise and real-world perspectives Mandia and Perlroth bring to the company. As BreachRx advances into its next growth phase, the platform is uniquely positioned to redefine industry standards for cybersecurity resilience, enabling enterprises not only to defend against cyber threats but also to respond effectively and transparently when incidents inevitably occur.
