Air Space Intelligence Federal Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification

October 9, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

Air Space Intelligence Federal, Inc. (ASI Federal), the government-focused subsidiary of Air Space Intelligence Inc., has reached an important milestone in the defense cybersecurity landscape by earning Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2. This achievement comes after a rigorous multi-day audit conducted by Redspin, one of the leading CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs), and confirms that ASI Federal is operating at the gold standard of cybersecurity maturity expected across the Defense Industrial Base.

The CMMC framework is designed to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) by requiring companies to implement strict controls mapped to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s NIST SP 800-171. Level 2 specifically involves all 110 practices, covering domains such as access control, incident response, configuration management, risk assessment, and system integrity. By meeting these requirements under formal third-party review, ASI Federal has demonstrated that its operational and technical posture is aligned with the needs of government and defense customers who cannot afford lapses in security.

Mark Lepczyk, President of ASI Federal, emphasized the importance of the milestone, calling it both a validation of the company’s operational discipline and a marker of trust for clients in aerospace and defense. Redspin President Brian McManamon echoed that sentiment, highlighting ASI’s proactive approach and noting that early adoption of CMMC Level 2 puts them ahead of the vast majority of the defense supply chain. As of 30 September 2025, only 366 companies out of roughly 200,000 across the DIB have successfully cleared this bar—an elite group that places ASI Federal among the front-runners in compliance readiness.

The certification isn’t just a regulatory checkbox. For ASI Federal, whose core mission is developing AI-powered decision support systems for complex government and defense operations, cybersecurity is both a foundation and a differentiator. By achieving Level 2 early, the company is ensuring uninterrupted eligibility for sensitive contracts, while signaling to partners that their data and missions are safeguarded against evolving cyber threats. In an environment where adversaries are leveraging automation and AI themselves, the fusion of ASI’s operational AI expertise with a robust cybersecurity framework is likely to become a critical competitive advantage in future defense programs.
